1962-3 Winter

Possibly the coldest winter on record, It started at Christmas time, 1962 and lasted through to early March 1963.
Almost the whole of Britain was covered in snow by early New Year 1963. There were record low temperatures at night, regular snowfalls and thick blocks of ice along the beach.
