Various shots of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth on their 1938 tour of industrial Lancashire, meeting people and being welcomed by crowds of cheering, flag-waving locals. The commentator mentions that the royal couple are accompanied by Lord Derby and Sir Samuel Hoare.

Scenes include:

  • The King and Queen meet disabled ex-servicemen at Blackburn.
  • After leaving the County Hall at Preston, the King and Queen are driven to Moor Park, Preston to inspect 2,500 members of the British Legion.
  • Then they head towards the sea, arriving at the Pier forecourt in St Annes-on-the-Sea.
  • Then on to Blackpool where they are driven along the promenade with Blackpool Tower in the background.
  • They meet the Mayor of Blackpool at the Town Hall, then drive off again.
