of Local Government in St.Annes was the 'Urban District Council' which had been
formed in 1894. Previously it was known as the 'Local Board of Health.'

St.Annes-on-the-Sea Urban District Council were above shops in Park
Road.
This block of shops and offices was known
as 'St.Annes Square' Most of this block was demolished in the 1960s and it is now
the site of Santander Bank.
As the new town expanded, purpose-built offices were
commissioned and the site chosen was in Clifton Drive So
