Maintenance work on the Moorish Pavilion, St.Annes Pier, 1956.

Blown sand by St.Annes pier, 1949.

During the war the regular maintenance work could not be done and by 1945 the pier was looking rather shabby. In 1948 the pier was repainted and in 1950 the engineers Webb of Bury were contracted to replace the steel fretwork (from the 1901-04 widening) at a cost of almost £2,000.

Summer shows in the Moorish Pavilion, which had ceased in 1939, were resumed in 1952.
