Queen Vera's Road, Blackpool
Queen Vera's Road, Blackpool, is one of the most obscure roads in the resort and
is usually only found by accident but it was named after the Cotton Queen of Great Britain, Vera
Bunn (nee Greenwood) (1920-2003). Living in Market Street, Whitworth, she was working as a
winder at the Whitworth Doubling Company when she was selected to be Cotton Queen in 1937.
