local school (possibly St.John's) living at 1, South Warton Street with his widowed
sister, Agnes Newton and her children, Mary, Agnes (a pupil teacher), Margaret,
Richard & Kate.
Joseph married late in life, about 1895, and moved to 39,
Cleveland Road where he set up Lytham Commercial School. In 1901 he was living
there with his wife Emily and two children, Kate & Irving. His niece Kate
Newton also lived there and was an assistant teacher.
