The Swedish Gymnasium Physical Culture Institute  was established in Century Buildings, Garden Street, St.Annes, in 1903. The Principals were Miss Florence Watson & Froken Alma Jonsson. This is Now second floor of J. R.Taylor's Department Store (which still has the sprung floor).

This advert dates from the 1920s by which time it had moved to the Majestic Hotel.
